Chicago’s Bowen High Centennial Recognition

This is a message for all Chicago Bowen High SChool Alumni from Hal Dvorin. Use the email address of Hal at the bottom of the message for more information, he’s running the show. 🙂

“Hello Fellow Bowen Alums,

As many of you already know, 2010 marks the 100th anniversary of Bowen High School. Several of us have been trying to organize some sort of celebration in conjunction with Chicago Public Schools. It has been a difficult process, but it is ongoing and we hope for a positive result.

I intend to write a letter to Alderman John Pope (10th Ward) requesting that he introduce a resolution in the City Council to recognize Bowen’s centennial. I would like to add each of your signatures to this letter. Please reply and let me know if you are OK with that. Time is flying by, so I need to do this soon. If you have contact with some of your classmates and think they would like to sign on, please ask them to contact me with their class year. Thanks for your help.

If any of you have not seen our 100th Anniversary page from the Bowen57 website here is a link:

Also, some of you may not be aware that we have a “Hall of Fame” page, which is much more inclusive than on the CPS Alumni site:
