C-SPAN: Day of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor

This afternoon I watched this BookTV session, Day of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor from May 24, 2000. The description from C-SPAN is below:

Mr. Stinnett talked about his book Day of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor, published by Free Press. The author argues in the book that President Franklin D. Roosevelt was eager to get the United States into World War II and took steps to ensure the Japanese would attack Pearl Harbor. Mr. Stinnett claimed that this was necessary to change the isolationism then prevalent in public opinion. Following his prepared remarks, he responded to comments and questions from the audience. Mr. Theroux provided the introduction; he spoke briefly about the book and gave a short biography of the author.

I found that some of the evidence supplied in this presentation left gaps preventing my acceptance of the conclusions. Some of the audience questions raised issues too.
