C-SPAN: Council on American-Islamic Relations News Conference

Last night I watched the Council on American-Islamic Relations News Conference C-SPAN first session, on TV. The program description is shown next:

Members from Muslim and civil rights groups commented on their concerns about the March 10, 2011, House Homeland Security hearing on Muslim radicalization in the U.S. They also took questions from reporters.

I can’t recall a time when a group of American Muslim suporters gathered to express their views as in this setting.

There are extremist elements in our culture. Some are in religious institutions. Some are in some peoples’ hearts.

The folks gathered today made some important points for their side. I look forward to the Committee Hearings to see what information is brought forward from the many sides of the issue.
