A follow-up to my previous post, Amazon AWS Services Start:
I installed the Command Line Tools and configured them correctly to use the X.509 Certificate and X.509 Certificate Private Key files. I edited the MacOS X Bash Profile via the Terminal application to create a directory and set filepaths of the contents. When I start up a terminal session, all the paths are then automatically set for me.
I prefer the Amazon AWS Management Console with the graphic interface, but having the command line tools installed and configured is a good backup plan.
