Hearts Without Bounds

The above image, Neither Time Nor Distance is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart) by Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross, released in 1973.

I have a large regular base of readers of this website. They have been following my web messages for many years now. I don't know all of them personally, that is not a requirement to form some relationships. A smaller group of those followers started viewing my previous websites and stayed along as I evolved in this medium.

Then there are the relative newcomers that arrive here in one way or another. I am amazed that from lands half-way around the world, new viewers (sometimes as new friends) become regulars. The mixing of cultures reaches common ground across the transmitted electrons in some ways depending on the topics.

The artwork I chose today represents my view of those I care about, but may not see in-person for a variety of reasons. It may also represent the view of me by some of the online friends I've made over all the years. To whomever it applies to, you have a heart that knows no bounds. [1; 2; 3]

This week, when thinking about my long-time friend, Larry and an episode at Andy's Tastee-Freez, I created a new digital art image, The Phantom's Catacombs shown below. It is also available as a Desktop Background.

My friend, Gary Plazyk, sent me this message about he and his partner's music schedule change this Saturday, September 26, 2009:

We just wanted to let you know that our performance time has changed for this Saturday, 9/26/09! We will be playing from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, instead of the late morning spot originally listed on our schedule.

This will be our third year playing at the Boone County Conservation District Autumn Pioneer Festival, 603 Appleton Road, Belvidere, IL. We're really looking forward to it!

This is a REALLY GREAT living history event.  It is primarily a civilian reenactment, and there are lots of demonstrations of "pioneer" crafts and skills, including spinning, weaving, bobbin lace making, blacksmithing, broom-making, pottery, cooperage (wooden barrel and bucket making), flint-knapping, and wood turning on a treadle lathe. Try home-brewed root beer or sample freshly made apple butter. (See photos linked from our home page under Highlights of 2008 and Highlights of 2007.)  If you like seeing old-time crafts, plan on spending the whole day.

Thanks for coming out to see us!

Very best regards,

-Gary P.

I listened to a well-done webinar this week on project management workflow by Bill Raymond whom works for Pcubed. His blog is very informative and provided useful tips for project managers.

From Bill's blog, I found this blog on Microsoft Project, projectified by Brian Kennemer. Brian has a great Visual Basic Macro to help determine the associated saved baselines of tasks. Thanks, Brian!

Positive government action towards Net Neutrality.

An open letter about Net Neutrality.

Is 250GB of Internet bandwidth a month a reasonable amount of traffic? A Comcast user exceeded that arbitrary limit, used 600GB and paid for it.
