Western Art Stirs Within

Today's song is El Paso by Marty Robbins, released in 1959.

On Thursday, I went to the Olaf Weighorst Museum located in El Cajon, California to look at that artist's pictures. His work inspired the image above that I completed last night.

Some of Olaf's art may be seen in the opening of the movie, El Dorado. He also has a small part in that movie as the gunsmith.

Below is the museum front followed by the home he built in 1945, now relocated to the grounds of the museum.

Kevin Weed, son of my friend and mentor, Gene Weed, is leaving the 24th of September for Italy to represent the United States at the International Duathlon Races. The pros race is on the 27th and he races on the 28th. This is Kevin's first Olympic race.
