Columbus Day, 515 Years Later
![]() Today's song is A Dream Goes On Forever by Todd Rundgren, released in 1974. Sometimes I wonder what Christopher Columbus thought might happen in the new land he discovered? Did he envision the destruction of the native cultures as a consequence? Did he merely think what he could take from this new place instead of what could be saved? I think I know the answers to those questions, but I also think they should be asked, at least every year at this time. We should ask them of ourselves too. In that regard, I offer the following thoughts. On the October 10, 2007 home page, I mentioned two speeches that I outlined, but never presented before in public. Today I publish one of those outlined speeches. I wrote this one back on May 21, 2003.
We are all a complex combination of DNA molecules propelled by a life force: One day I may actually give this speech, perhaps in one of my digital art presentations as a storyteller. Time will tell, as always...
All the signs point to the imminent release of the next version of the MacOS, Leopard.
Is this really news? I thought this was commonly understood. :-)
Searching the skies is about to get a whole lot better. I've been to the Very Large Array telescopes in New Mexico back in 1986.
Another public person thinks America should be a religious nation and be all of that same religion. Each person who thinks that way is a fool in my opinion. It would be better for public figures to indicate that religion should play no part in government or policies. But there are too many fools to expect that will happen.
