The Dolphin Waves

This image is also available as a Desktop

Today's song is 26 Miles (Santa Catalina) by The Four Preps, released in 1956.

On Saturday I finished up publishing the new art on my Digital Passages CafePress site. There are now forty of my images available as framed prints and wide poster sizes for sale there. Just in time for your holiday shopping.

Afterwards, I went to the beach on that warm, sunny day. I've written about walking along the surf before, this was another time to take in the ions flowing off the waves in the whispering breeze.

About 100 feet out from the shore, I caught sight of a pod of dolphins swimming along. I had my camera ready, but missed a great shot of three dolphins visible in a large wave just before it crested. It is a sight that won't soon be forgotten. I named the above image for that experience, it is the picture the shutter captured, sans the dolphins which had already moved out of the view.

To walk along the ocean's shore is a gift for those that take the time to stroll and allow you time to slow down. To take stock of what you want in life, to consider your dreams and how to make them real.

Sometimes the dolphins are close-by to remind us of our gentle ways. Walk the shore and seek out those special moments. It's a wonderful way to prepare yourself for the holiday season ahead.
