Certified Persuasion

The above image is, At The Beach

Today's song is Crystal Blue Persuasion by Tommy James and the Shondells, released in 1968.

I am presently busy studying for my certification in Microsoft Project Professional 2007. I use VMWare Fusion running on my iMac in its own window to operate Windows XP.

That certificate will complement my Certified Associate In Project Management (CAPM) earned from the Project Management Institute (PMI) last year in September.

I'm reading four books in preparation for the Microsoft Project Professional 2007 certification. Altogether, these books stack to about 7 inches in height:

Below is a small image of one of the book examples I created from the text. This MS Project Example 111808 (PDF) of the actual document shown is more readable after zooming.

I first learned MS Project in 1998 when I went to work for IBM as a Transition Project Manager in the Global Services Division. These books will refresh my knowledge and bring me up-to-date for my certification test.

I am also becoming interested in Six Sigma certification as a Green Belt. From my prior corporate and client consulting experiences, I know being qualified in Six Sigma would be helpful in providing effective ways to increase productivity by using Design of Experiments, for example.

When the next Congress and President Obama come to office in January, they will start to work on new ways to address our economic situation. I expect that as President of Newbound, Inc. with new certifications, our company will be in a strategic position to add value to ailing companies. We already have the proven technology tools to improve productivity for teams of people. Having project management and six sigma certifications are two more ways we can persuade our clients to hire us.

I am remembering my Father whom passed away on this day in 1955. Gone in life, still with me in Spirit. I think of him every day.

Over the weekend I watched the 1936 move, Rembrandt, enjoying it very much. My favorite artist is Vincent van Gogh, having read several books about him. I've been to his museum in Amsterdam in 1993.

Now I've discovered I like the philosophy of Rembrandt too. It will be fun to learn more about him as I have time to do so.

My friend, Nicki, has a new horse in despair story on her blog.

My friend, Bob, sent me this Look Back in History link.
