First Council Meeting
President Obama on Thursday held the First Council with all the representatives of the Native American Nations. This practice should have started with the founding of the United States by President George Washington.
For too long, new arrivals to this land disrespected the ancient owners of this land, dismissing the owners claims, making then breaking treaties, eventually taking land by force. It is the true history usually left out in primary and secondary educational institutions. The truth was not taught to me through the Chicago School system.
Fortunately, early on in the early formation of this country, Native Americans reached out to save the lives of the European settlers. Without that support the illegal aliens of that time would have perished. We celebrate their generosity in the annual national holiday called, Thanksgiving.
It is good to know that there is increasing recognition of the aboriginal people that lived on this land for many thousands of years. All who came after are relative newcomers.
Earlier this week I upgraded to VMWare's Fusion 3 software. I found this online review. So far, the upgrade works very nicely on my 2008 iMac.
