Religious Tolerance

The above image is, Carlsbad California Beach Sunset

Today's song is Day By Day from the musical Godspell, released in 1972.

Part of our American freedom is we can choose to practice or not practice religion as we see fit. Some accept that principle, a few do not.

Some people instigate intolerance. Most do not.

I accept most people are secure in their own religious beliefs regardless of how they believe, and even if they do not believe. They have a right that should be tolerated as long as they do not infringe on the religious beliefs of others.

The origination of most religions I know of took place in other lands long before America was discovered by non-Native Americans. Those foreign cultures brought forth religions and immigrants from many places and came to North America bringing their religious beliefs with them. Some of their decendants carry on those traditional beliefs. Our legal protection in the United States comes from the U.S Constitution. As I stated in the first part of this message, religion is a protected private matter for individuals. This is a nation to leave the religious biases of other lands and beliefs against those with differing views behind. We have no need or desire for the likes of the Spanish Inquisition here.

I think most Americans understand what I write and probably could agree with it. A few may not.
