Free Spirit Element

Today's song is We'll Sing In the Sunshine by Gale Garnett, released in 1964.

I also want to make it very clear that the above image, Wildfire is a picture from the front area of one of my favorite t-shirts, given to me by my wife, Sherry. I do not know the artist's name so I am unable to credit the artist appropriately as is the professional practice in fair-use of another's work. I usually only wear that t-shirt at special times in my life. It serves a purpose today since I feel so charged about all that is going on in my life. -- March 5, 2006

Over the weekend I thought about the importance of being a free spirit. Many of the people I have strong feelings about are themselves free spirits. Free Spirits should be listed as our own Element on the Periodic Table.

We tend to move around and not reside in one place all our lives. We look for adventure, romance, and a chance to make a difference in the world. We want to leave our mark upon the world. We are usually successful at that in various ways.

Last week, I was twice asked to help coach a team for a presentation they needed to make for one of their college classes so they could graduate. I did my best to help them over the rough spots and feel confident during the presentation. On Friday, I heard they did okay and they are happy to be done with that class project.

Sometimes I am called upon for some advice or skill to help. Maybe they recognize that Free Spirit in me, accepting new challenges in finding the solutions together.

I will always be attracted to free spirits. All my soulmates past and present are free spirits. I'm sure to meet more free spirits on my path.

Gene Weed is certainly a free spirit. He was one, long before me. :-)

I wrote a new short story, Inland Empire Woman. A story about a feminine free spirit, in tribute to this past weekend's Mother's Day celebration.

Private Investigators are often free spirits. Sometimes it's a matter of who is watching who, the outcome may not be the expected one...

I freely end this message with the following Digital Insight.

Canyon of Tears Outlet (Created in February 2000)

I created this image after my mother passed away in January 2000. So many family members expressed so much emotion to me, that I had to find an outlet for it.

Over the years this image made it into the top ten favorites on this site for awhile. It tells me there are many people who found value in its meaning.

The canyon is constantly replenished with the tears of those saddened by the death of a loved one or when a love relationship ends. Using my own words, I quote a portion from that page's narration:

"Sadness is an acceptable human emotion. Crying often brings relief. All the tears in the world need a place to flow."
