Hot July Days!

Today's song is Summer In The City by The Lovin' Spoonful, released in 1966.

Our daughter's in-law's, Ron and Tina Reints, came to visit us over this past weekend while on vacation. We had a wonderful time with them on Saturday and Sunday. They last visited us here back in June 2002. We saw them since on our previous trips to Chicago.

This past week it has been unusually hot and somewhat humid here in San Diego. Many of the homes here in San Diego don't have air-conditioning, but we do. As the days heat up and breezes stop, we close up the house and turn on the air to cool us down.

Other ways to cool down are to go to the ocean which is what we did on Sunday. The beach was packed with people looking for relief. All of us enjoyed boggie-boarding in the waves and eating snacks while enjoying each other's company.

Last week, I published a forward [link since deleted] to my book. More chapter to follow as the Summer moves along...

A Chicago online magazine is using some of my pictures of the Museum of Science and Industry. How cool!

My friend, Jeff Rutan, sent me a link showing the hanging of SpaceShipOne in the EAA AirVenture Museum.

My friend and fellow Twin Oaks Toastmaster, Lincoln Marini, gave a speech last week about the secure paper shredding services of San Diego Goodwill Industries. They provide employment opportunities for disabled people in a variety of ways.

Stay cool everyone!
