Acceptance Greater Than Love

The above image, Love Is Blue is also available as a High Resolution Desktop

Today's song is Love Is Blue by Paul Mauriat, released in 1968.

Two people loving each other is not enough to sustain a long-term relationship. Love is important, but of even greater importance is that each accepts the other as they are and not for how they wish them to be.

For the inexperienced person in love, that perspective is not always understood. Often the inexperienced rush into relationships thinking whatever omissions they or the other person lacks, will be overlooked, or worse, that they can change the other person into conforming to their liking. That is a recipe for disaster.

The truth always matters in a love relationship. Lies or deceit only hurt and harm a relationship, the effect lasting a long time.

A relationship of mutual love that is not also based on mutual acceptance, is just lust waiting to end unexpectedly.

In due time and with enough experience, a mature person will come to understand the right match for them is a contained within a complex arrangement of human nature. Their expectations are tempered under those circumstance and perhaps that is how a great love relationship should be formed. That's how my marriage is between Sherry and me.

On Friday night, our granddaughter by telephone said, "Hi" and "Bye" to Sherry and I as we spoke to her. This is the first time she used the telephone to say those words to us. She's almost 18 months old and she is a pretty smart kid!

My wife Sherry has modified her web site. Take a look.

My good friend, Karen, celebrates a birthday today. We met online seven years ago and I wish her a happy birthday today!

Earlier this week I went to see the new movie, The Kite Runner. I enjoyed it very much as a story of understanding and accepting devotion during times of stress.

Parts of that movie reminded me of what I wrote in one of my short stories, The Kite Flyer.

The connections on my LinkedIn site continue to grow. Thank you to everyone who joins up.

One of my duties as President of Newbound, Inc. is to be webmaster. This week I added more content. There is additional pages and content to add soon. Thanks to my partner, Marc for working up the CSS and JavaScript we use.

In this past month of January, this site accumulated 87,602 page views serving 700,643 requests (hits) while transferring over 20 GB of data. At that rate, this site will reach the 3 million page views at the end of this month or in early March.

Two of the most popular Quicktime movies in January were:

  1. The Great Spokane Washington Falls is about 16 seconds long and 5.3 MB in size. That month provided 2,901 page views.
  2. Feeling In The Moonlight is about 3 minutes and 20 seconds long and 14.5 MB in size. That month provided 2,318 page views.

For several months now, those two videos have stayed at the top of that category.
