California Storms of 2008

The above image, Arizona Red is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is California Dreamin' by The Mamas & the Papas, released in 1965.

The weather here in San Diego, California over the last few days is cold and rainy. We need the rain, we always need the rain it seems. Today the high was 57 degrees, a bit chilly to the natives who lived here all their lives.

Sherry and I are from Chicago where real storms hit often during all four seasons of the year. Right now as I type this Chicagoans have ice and snow storms coming and the temperature is 21 degrees. Because of the past winter storms I endured when I lived in Chicago and also Wisconsin, I never complain about the weather here in San Diego.

I was video conferencing with my Chicago partner, Marc, today. He held little sympathy for me when I told him about the weather here. Sherry called her best friend, Linda, who lives in Chicago and in telling her about our weather here, abruptly changed the subject. The usual adage of everybody talks about the weather, doesn't seem to apply when San Diego weather becomes the subject under discussion. It's just one more things we San Diegans' suffer through during the winter season.

I am sympathetic with the folks I know in Chicago during the winter months. I have been known to hold my hand in the freezer for a few moments just to remind myself what a warm winter day for them is really like. I usually keep that personal trait a secret but today I just want my friends and family in Chicago to know the sacrifice I make on this end on days like this.

I know people may send me their comments about how they appreciate the four seasons of the year and couldn't imagine living anywhere without them. In closing I want to make it clear that we have all four seasons here in San Diego. We have Spring; Summer; Fall, and, -- The Weather Channel! ;-)

Merry Christmas!

MacWorld is on its way out. I attended many over the last 25 years. An era ends. It was fun all these years while it lasted.

My friend, Bob, points out that male births are decreasing.

I am a strong advocate for this right!

I use VMWare's Fusion 2.0.1 to use Windows XP applications on my iMac. Read a review of it and an alternative.
