Where My Dad Once Stood

Today's song is Tomorrow by Strawberry Alarm Clock, released in 1968.

Sherry and I returned home Monday from a visit to our daughter's house in the Chicago area. It was a chance for us to celebrate the holidays early. We all had a great time together. Our granddaughter has grown a lot since I last saw her. She gave me plenty of smiles when I held her or called her name from across the room.

Last Friday we went to the Museum of Science and Industry to see the annual Christmas Trees exhibit. Trees from many countries are on display, brightening up the large halls of that building.

The title picture above is a place in the rear of the museum where my late father once stood with me back around 1953 or 1954. It has become a place where my daughter and now my granddaughter pose for pictures as kind of a Larson tradition. Maybe one day my granddaughter will continue the tradition with her children and then her children's children.

Previously on Thursday evening, I met with my friend, Bob Katzman at a nearby restaurant in Morton Grove, IL. His author/storytelling career continues to grow and he hopes to make that a full-time business in 2007. I plan on having a podcast interview [ Link since removed ] with him very soon to talk about his interests.

Ronnie Allen reminded me that last Wednesday was the fifth year anniversary of the Janie Grant radio interviews. I receive many messages about my Janie Grant page every year. It just goes to show that Janie is still loved!
