Fools and Our Money

The above image, Marooned is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is The Games People Play by Joe South, released in 1968.

I'm against the bailout of the Auto Industry regardless of the impact in their failures. We have better ways to invest the money they are asking for instead of throwing it away on those outdated industries.

These are the companies that resisted mileage improvement laws. These are the companies that create crappy vehicles and then deny the owners of such vehicles a refund. These are the companies that rip-off customers in so many ways.

For decades the executive management of those companies squandered opportunities to make small effective energy-wise vehicles, instead making massive energy-guzzling vehicles, selling them at astronomical prices. They made contractual deals with their workers that were way beyond the average worker's wages because they were afraid to manage their companies correctly.

Now they want our taxpayer money to survive. LOL!

I say let them go under. Then some smarter investors can come along and purchase their leftovers for a song and run the companies so much better. That's how the free enterprise system works.

On Wednesday night I watched the first of my favorite holiday movies on DVD, Holiday Inn from 1942. It is a ritual of mine to watch the old movies every holiday season and snack on some popcorn in the process.

While my entire family was here over the recent Thanksgiving holiday, we spend most of one day at nearby Legoland California. These are some of the pictures.

I actually have in my possession the early literature from that park with the name, Legoland Carlsbad. The name was changed to the current name just before the park opened.

My friend, Bob, sent me this link on highly skilled driving.

I'm in favor of free high-speed wireless Internet access across the nation.
