Acknowledge Your Devotions

The above image, Suspended Feelings is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is Cherish by The Association, released in 1966.

I first heard the song, Cherish, in the summer of 1965. I was in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for the weekend with my friend's family. Some of his family were a few years older and one night we all were in the car driving around the town. At one point we stopped for a few minutes in a night club. It was there I heard, Cherish. The next year when it came out I remembered it as the same song I had heard as described. It remains one of my favorite songs of all time.

From some of the recent Facebook and email messages I read about or receive, they reinforce my belief there are certain people in our lives we will always cherish. Those people hold a special place in our heart and we either still love them or remember the love we once held deeply for them. Those are good feelings to acknowledge within ourselves. I recently responded in writing to a friend and stated the following axiom:

"To love another is not to be untrue to others. Love is the key to what binds us to this life, in my humble opinion."

Cherish the loves of your life in all their various forms. They helped make who you are today.
