A Few Summer Dreams 2009

The above image, Summer Dreams is also available as a Desktop Background

Today's song is A Summer Song by Chad and Jeremy, released in 1964.

As previously mentioned, my family is here and we are having a great time. So far we've played in the backyard pool, gone to the playground, and on Sunday morning we went to the beach in Carlsbad, California.

The grandkids played in the sand and we provided them a very small inflatable boat we filled with water and kept by our blankets and beach chairs. My daughter and I used our Boogie-Boards out in the warm water 8-foot waves. It was a lot of fun.

I watched my grandson walk a few steps on his own. It won't be long now until he gets the entire hang of the walking process.

We still have more to do in their remaining days. We'll celebrate our granddaughter's third birthday and then they return home. We're making some of our summer dreams come true.

One of my high school friends, Carol, mentioned on my Facebook site, that her mother is an artist and designs full color, hand drawn and hand painted artwork. Take a look at Doris Gold's First Day Covers.

A long time friend, Dean, sent me a link to the Caldwell 1965 Graduation Class website. That was a year after my graduation from that same school. It has some contact information and pictures for friends I had in that class.

Some of those friends were present at the recent Bowen Class of 1969 Reunion. I'll be taking time later this week to review everything Dean sent me.

Unemployment isn't forever. At some point people need to move on to a new reality. I'm not saying that it's easy. I've been there back in the middle 1970's and early 1980's.

Americans are haggling over price tags. How cool!
