Sherry and Don's 34th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Today's song is Do I Love You by The Ronettes, released in 1964.

We delayed our wedding anniversary celebration one week this year so we could attend a San Diego Padres night baseball game. We enjoyed the entire day together on Saturday, April 28, 2007.

We started out about 11:00 a.m., by going to Old Town San Diego, to walk around and have some guacamole and chips, one of our favorite treats.

Around 4:00 p.m., we boarded the San Diego Trolley and rode over to Petco Park to watch batting practice, a couple hours before the game started.

Upon entering the stadium, we ordered some food. I was carded for purchasing a non-alcoholic beer. I think the last time I was carded was 1980. I thanked the young man serving us for flattering me so. A few years ago I was given an involuntary senior-citizen discount at a store, a discount usually reserved for people over age 62. I don't know why I appear so much younger now, maybe it's the vitamins? Or it could be my young-looking wife was with me when I ordered the food? Yeah, that's it. ;-)

In-between one of the innings, some park staff came out onto the field and slingshot rolled t-shirts into the crowd. Both Sherry and I reached for the one that came flying at us. I tipped it and it flew down in front of me. Then I lost track of it in the frenzy of hands. Turns out, a Dodgers fan right behind me retrieved it and gave it to the very young boy sitting next to me. That little boy is a big-time Padres fan. That was a nice touch and brought a big smile to the boy's face. :-)

I witnessed a catcher tag-out a runner at second base. That play may go down in the history books. I don't recall a catcher ever doing that before.

I created a new Quartz Composer Screen Saver, Z Images (snapshot shown below) for MacOS X 10.4 users.

I didn't know this worked for HDTV!

Today's message completes with the following Digital Insight.

Intertwined Rings (Created in April 2004)

I created this image as a celebration of our 31st Wedding Anniversary in 2004. It signifies the years of being together through good and hard times and the importance of the formal declaration of marriage to each other.

I also created a gray-scale version of this image; it may be found on this Desktop Backgrounds page. Using my own words, I quote a portion from that page's narration:

"Marriage is a very serious obligation and should never be taken lightly. We all know people who tried it with certain reservations and failed within a short period of time. Marriage takes a lot of effort, commitment, and sacrifice."
