36 Years And Counting

The above image, Intertwined Rings is also available as a modified Desktop Background

Today's song is Betcha By Golly, Wow by The Stylistics, released in 1972.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 is Sherry's and my 36th wedding anniversary. We are celebrating this coming weekend. Today's song above is our song that we bonded with way back when.

In some ways it doesn't seem like 36 years ago when we gave our sacred vows. We've stayed young in our hearts. We kiss and hug openly, we hold hands a lot in public. We were engaged for the unbearably long duration of 30 days before we wed. That was much too long!

For many years Sherry and I have heard a few comments about our long marriage seemingly to suggest that we are lucky, or that it's easy, or something other than hard work and deep dedication to each is responsible. We are honest and true to each other in love. We work at our marriage still. That's why we still love each other as we did back on April 21, 1973.

On Sunday, Sherry and went to walk the Oceanside Pier after eating breakfast out. I published a page of some of the pictures I took that day.

I wore my Zion National Park t-shirt there and was approached by a tourist from New Brunswick asking about Zion. He and his wife have been traveling through the United States for the last 3 months. He mentioned visiting many of the places I have seen around this great nation. I told him I have been to Halifax, Nova Scotia and he liked that exchange in views.
